Free Essays on Strategic Marketing Of Saturn
While reading an article about Saturnââ¬â¢s marketing strategy Iââ¬â¢ve got a feeling that they followed instructions on companyââ¬â¢s strategic planning from Chapter Two of our textbook. Because theyââ¬â¢ve got it all: corporate strategy, marketing strategy, mission statement, favorable opportunities, and strategic window ant so on. But before Iââ¬â¢ll start writing about their good points I would like to mention something I did not like about Saturn. They do not have long-term goals. Just short terms ones (less then 5-10). They kind of adapted to the situation as it went. Thatââ¬â¢s why the company had problem meeting the increasing demand in 1990s and their customers had to wait for few weeks before they were able to get the car they wanted. And although it is a problem on production and distribution levels it affected their marketing strategy too. In general Saturn had a very strong and efficient strategic marketing planning. Saturnââ¬â¢s managers viewed partnerships as key to success. All company members, suppliers and distributors worked very close together and shared all the risks and rewards. Free Essays on Contra Columbus Day
Columbus Day: In Denial of History October 12, Columbus Day, is a national holiday. For most Americans, itââ¬â¢s a day off from school or work. Many communities observe this day with parades and pageants depicting Columbus as a hero, with smiling Indians and brave sailors, with out really knowing what began to happen on that day 500 years ago. Until recently history text books portrayed Columbus as great explorer who discovered the new world. Now we are presented with history that is much closer to the truth. Columbus had an appetite for gold and the possession of land at any cost. This great hero is responsible for the deaths of millions of indigenous people and taking ninety-five percent of their land. This holiday is set aside to honor the man who caused this genocide. What are we supposed to celebrate when it is discovered that the hero of the day is really a monster, not unlike Adolph Hitler? This holiday should no longer commemorate the life of Christopher Columbus. Rather than celebrating genocide we should remember the millions of early Americans that lost their lives. Now that more of the truth has been revealed to this generation, it would be possible to change the objective of October twelfth to a memorial day for the first Americans. There are theories that support the evidence of other explores that discovered America five hundred years before Columbus. Leif Eriksson, a young Viking was thought to have landed in America in 1000 and named it Vinland. Other research indicates that the Muslims crossed the Atlantic Ocean and discovered America in 1150. There is even a record of Chinese settlers in America as early as 499 A.D. by a Buddhist priest called Hwui Shin. With this information, why is Christopher Columbus considered the first man to discover America and why is there a holiday in his name? Other American holidays, such as Presidents Day and Independence Day honor and remind Americans of the ... Relation between Entrepreneur and New Venture Essay
Relation between Entrepreneur and New Venture - Essay Example The researcher states that there is no agreed definition of the entrepreneur, but entrepreneurship is related to new business ventures. An entrepreneur is an individual who establishes new business ventures for profit-making purposes. In the entrepreneurship sphere, a creation of a new venture is a separate and distinct phenomenon, which includes business formation, acquisition and mergers, and advancing the business. The creation of a new venture is a complex, crucial, and multidimensional process that involves interaction between an individual and his socio-economic environment. The process is critical because it designs the future ventures building blocks; principally, it comprises the activities, ideas, actions, and techniques displayed by entrepreneurs towards materializing their visions and concepts into an operating business. This clearly shows that in order for an entrepreneur to be successful, he or she must possess a high level of mental hardness to assist him or she persev ere and make operational strategic decisions. The stages of creating a new venture occur in the mind of entrepreneurs through interaction with the society and on the computer while the real venture activities have not been started. The major viewpoints introduced in the process of creating a new venture include the following: 1) recognition of a type of prospects; notions to be executed as future business. 2) Vision; different activities and strategies that are normally applied in the initial stages of the new venture. 3) Groundwork is an important factor that enables materialization of the concept into the real business. 4) The intention of financing the future ventures 5) The sense of planning and ensuing impacts on the entrepreneur and the venture 6) Quality of the entrepreneurial profile of persons showing a new business formation process 7) Environment, which is a major contributor to the process.

Frankish Kingdom :: essays research papers
The Frankish Kingdom was seen as a great military power in the time of Clovis. Early medieval Europe was primarily under the control of the Roman Empire. Syagrius, the king of the Romans and his son Aegidius were living in the city of Soisson when Clovis decided to show off his military excellence. Clovis marched against Syagrius and eventually defeated him by disposing of his army and forcing him to flee the area. à à à à à Syagrius fled to the kingdom of Aralic. In another show of his power, Clovis scarred Aralic into giving Syagrius up or he would be marched on as well. Out of fear, Sygrius was given up to Clovis and secretly killed. This was the beginning of the power and respect that was to come for Clovis. à à à à à Clovis did not believe in Jesus as being a true god. His mind would change in the near future. He married a woman who was a believer in the Christian religion. The way he would be converted to the Christian religion was very fitting for this military leader. Clovisââ¬â¢ wife would try to convince him that the Christian religion is the one for him. He would not change his mind until he was on the battlefield. He was in the middle of a conflict with a man named Alamanni and his army. Clovisââ¬â¢ troops were being annihilated, so he would ask Jesus for help in exchange for his faith. He looked to Jesus to help him survive this battle. If he would survive, he would hold the god of his wife as the same holy god for himself, and would be faithful to the lord. As Clovis asked for the aid of the lord, Alamanni retreated and soon after was killed. In this event, Alamanniââ¬â¢s troops surrendered and Clovis was then victorious. After this, Clovis kept his word and converted to the Christian faith. Along with himself, three thousand of Clovisââ¬â¢ followers were baptized on Christmas day. The conversion of Clovis in 496 was a decisive event in the political and religious future of continental Europe. By converting to the Christian religion, Clovis would gain the favor of Constantinople and among the people and clergy of the Roman population in Gaul à à à à à Under the leadership of Clovis, the Franks acquisitioned the former Roman territories in Gaul and in Germany. Clovis would also gain the Burgundian people. They would abandon Arianism, along with many other peoples.

GFP Bunny Essay
Oswald Chambers once said that, ââ¬Å"We are in danger of forgetting that we cannot do what God does, and that God will not do what we can doâ⬠(http://home. att. net/~quotesabout/god. html). In a society which is constantly making progress, human beings do not understand the repercussions of new scientific discoveries and often cross the delicate line of being human and playing God. Science gives us security as it is considered to be the cure to all evil. What eludes us is that in the act of eradicating this ââ¬Ëevilââ¬â¢, we inadvertently bring into being a newer, more powerful evil. Victor Frankenstein, the focal character in Mary Shellyââ¬â¢s novel ââ¬Å"Frankensteinâ⬠and Aylmer, the antagonistic character in Nathaniel Hawthorneââ¬â¢s short story ââ¬Å"The Birthmarkâ⬠both become so devoted in their pursuits of creation, that they forget their human limitations ending up with chaos and destruction. In the story, ââ¬Å"The Birthmarkâ⬠, Aylmer tells his newly wed wife that he is ââ¬Ëshockedââ¬â¢ by the birthmark on her face, as it is the ââ¬Å"visible mark of earthly imperfectionâ⬠(Hawthorne 1131). His thoughts and words hurt his wife greatly, which drives her to a point where she would rather die than live on another day with the hideous birthmark on her face. As Georgiana imparts on to her husband, her wish to get the birthmark removed once and for all, Aylmer is fueled to succeed at all costs. He rents out an extensive apartment where he observes Georgina and delves in a variety of natural philosophies so that he can remove her birthmark once and for all. Aylmer is so engrossed in playing God to remove a human imperfection so his wife can get rid of her mortal nature that he does not realize that he lacks the powers to make things around him flawless. It is this obsession, which eventually eradicates the birthmark. But along with the birthmark, a fair Georgiana becomes a martyr for her husbandââ¬â¢s cause. Similarly Victor Frankenstein, the character created by Mary Shelly, wishes to indulge in ââ¬Å"the secrets of heaven and earthâ⬠(Shelley 45); however, despite having the intentions to ââ¬Å"banish disease from the human frameâ⬠(Shelley 47), he is completely careless in accepting responsibilities for his creation. After his motherââ¬â¢s death, Frankenstein becomes a victim of fate. It is fate coupled with his eternal thirst for knowledge that leads to the monsters creation. An ambitious Frankenstein eventually goes against Mother Nature by creating the monster. Frankenstein and Aylmerââ¬â¢s actions of creating life and beauty respectively parallel the nature of recent cloning efforts by the Clonaid Corporation. According to The Economist ââ¬Å"On December 27th Clonaid, a firm associated with the Raelians, a religious sect, announced that it had succeeded in producing the worldââ¬â¢s first human cloneââ¬âan allegedly healthy baby girl called Eve, born to an unnamed American woman at an undisclosed locationâ⬠(61-62). Cloning has been going on for years and numerous animals have been cloned. Critics, skeptics and supporters have paid minimal attention to this sensitive subject because it has never affected our lives in a direct way. But as our own species are being cloned, we canââ¬â¢t help but to stop and think about the implications of cloning. In scienceââ¬â¢s great pursuit to take over godââ¬â¢s duties, one wonders whether creating clones is ethical and moral, not only to the clone that may suffer serious deformities but to the society it will be unleashed upon. Science is trying to create a life which they cannot govern later on as natureââ¬â¢s will eventually take over. Paranoid. Human Beings have always been inclined towards art and beauty. It is in our nature to lay emphasis on beauty and creation. It is something that mesmerizes us and wheels us into great depths. Art that is created naturally can be exquisite at times, but when our obsession with superficiality drives us to inject science into this artistic force, we are looking at a grotesque and unethical piece of creation. Aylmer was so fixated on his wifeââ¬â¢s beauty that he saw the birthmark as a sign of her mortal nature. He saw the birthmark as a symbol of imperfection, sorrow, decay and death; all things ugly. He is eager to remove the birthmark and tells Georgiana, his humble wife that he is ââ¬Å"convinced of the perfect practicability of itââ¬â¢s removalâ⬠(Hawthorne 1132). Aylmer with his previous experiences at taming nature sees no reason why he should not further beautify his nearly perfect wife upon whom nature has placed its ugly stamp. Frankensteinââ¬â¢s creation ââ¬ËThe monsterââ¬â¢ has also been judged at a superficial level from the very beginning. Following the birth of his creation, he instantly gives the monster a feeling of being on the outside of society. Victor responds to his creation by saying, ââ¬Å"I beheld the wretchââ¬âthe miserable monster whom I had createdâ⬠(Shelley 61). It is his initial rejection which leads the monster to plead with Frankenstein: ââ¬Å"You, my creator, abhor me; what hope can I gather from your fellow-creatures, who owe me nothing? they spurn and hate meâ⬠(Shelley 94). The creature struggles with the thought of being unwanted because of his grotesque looks. The ââ¬Ëmonsterââ¬â¢ was a benevolent creature, but as he was shunned by people for his external appearance, he turned miserable and vengeful.

How Sports Can Improve Team Relations
Team sports are a great fun way to instil strong teamwork values in staff that have to work effectively together off the field. Team Sport Spirit As a sports team functions in much a similar way to a workplace team ââ¬â with members cooperating with one another to achieve a common goal, sport participation is a good way of further instilling the important principles of teamwork in a group. A lot of the same rules of the workplace team can be played out on the field or court. For example, if one person fails to pull their weight then the whole team performance will suffer. And conversely if one individual dominates then the performance of others will be adversely affected. Feeling undervalued and second best, their morale and motivation will droop. In both arenas the only way to achieve a victory is with a team working in harmony and on equal terms with one another. As with sport, a team may comprise of the most brilliant individual talents but if they donââ¬â¢t work well together then the team will be worthless. The Mechanics of a Good Team Itââ¬â¢s easy to accept that the key lessons of team sport are the same as those in the workplace, but beyond that what can sport teach employees about teams that they canââ¬â¢t pick up in the workplace? For starters, the benefit of taking team relations out onto the field is in providing a more direct and boiled down display of how a team should function. On the field success is made or broken based on the effort ââ¬â or lack of ââ¬â of the competing players. If there are any weak links on the field, for example, then the upshot will be swift and decisive. Itââ¬â¢s not so clear cut in the workplace where success and failure is not judged in super fast one hours bursts. Lazy individual members can generally drag the team down for a long time before the negative effects become apparent. Therefore by participating in sports, team members learn the effectiveness of ââ¬Ëpulling togetherââ¬â¢ in achieving a goal and hopefully apply the same principles to their work. Team Bonding and Communication Team sports not only instil a belief in the power of effective teamwork but also they help improve team bonding and the relationships between team members, so that they can better achieve that goal. Encouraging staff to participate in team sports together on a regular basis is an excellent way to allow team members to get to know one another better and build up stronger and more productive relationships both on the field and in the workplace. Sport promotes a numbers of qualities that are valuable in the office, such as trust, respect, effective communication and good old fashioned comradeship. If team members find success together on the football field or badminton court, for example, then the bond they form with one another will hold strong in the workplace context. Often it doesnââ¬â¢t even matter whether certain people donââ¬â¢t get on in the workplace. On the sports field there is no room for frosty relations ââ¬â for the sake of the team players must put their differences aside and cooperate. Hopefully success together can help people to put their petty differences aside off the field too.
